QBPC Home Appliances IWG Lunch Meeting

On December 5, the Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment Home Appliance IWG (HA IWG) held the IWG lunch meeting in Shanghai, which was chaired by IWG Coordinator Ping Wang. Representatives from Philips, Legrand, Signify, Canon and Brita attended the meeting.

 

The participants first discussed online brand protection at a specific platform. In the past several years, they noted that the platform had modified its business model, which allowed access for more and more individual sellers who had not been authorized by brand owners It led to an increase in the number of counterfeit and copy products on the platform. The participants advised that the QBPC conduct in-depth communication with the platform and push the platform to take more proactive actions against counterfeits and copycat products.

 

The participants also discussed IP issues related to cross-border e-commerce. They proposed better communication between members of HA IWG and Chinese and foreign Customs in order to develop the collaboration.
