QBPC Visits the Investigation Corps of Crackdown on Counterfeit and Shoddy Commodities Crimes of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau

On September 11, a group of representatives from 13 QBPC member companies called on the Investigation Corps of Crackdown on Counterfeit and Shoddy Commodities Crimes of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau. The two sides exchanged views and discussed hot and difficult topics of criminal IP protection as well as reaching a consensus to continue strengthening communication and collaboration. Chief Captain Wei ZHOU, Deputy Chief Captains Junhua WANG and Jiandong TAO, and detachment heads received the QBPC delegation warmly.

 

First, ZHOU introduced the portfolio of the Corps. and the status of its criminal IP protection work. He stated that the two sides had established good cooperation since the signing of MOU in 2018. He looked forward to continuously deepening collaboration with the QBPC on IP protection, listening to demands and suggestions by QBPC members, and improving the quality of case investigation so as to provide strong support for strengthening the criminal IP protection and optimizing the business environment.

 

Then, Michael detailed the organizational structure and four major tasks of QBPC, including following up on IP-related policies, laws, and regulations as well as providing advice and suggestions, maintaining communication and cooperation with central and local judicial and law enforcement departments, assisting members to improve their capacity, and strengthening international exchange and cooperation. In addition, he shared the QBPC’s signature activities for criminal protection, such as the annual Top Ten Cases Selection and Announcement, the Criminal IP Protection Forum, and the Cross Border IP Protection Forum. He expected to leverage the opportunity to learn of the Corps’ demands for the right holders’ assistance in case investigation and promote communication and in-depth collaboration between the two sides.

Next, QBPC representatives spoke in turn on the difficulties they faced, collaboration requests, and so on. Relevant officials from Corps responded one by one, which helped member companies to clarify their ideas and identify approaches for further collaboration.

In the end, Michael said that QBPC would continue to improve collaboration with the Corps and deepen the cooperation and coordination mechanism based on the MOU. ZHOU emphasized the importance of IP protection in improving the local business environment while expressing his expectations for the right holders in case clue sharing, collaboration between police and right holders, professional seminars, and so on.
