On December 6, 2023, QBPC Agricultural IWG held an IWG lunch meeting in Shanghai. Representatives from five member companies attended the event, summarized the IWG’s main achievements and discussed its annual work report for 2023.
The participants actively discussed recent hot issues in the industry, including the current situation and supervision of online sales of agricultural materials involving IPR infringement, the export of illegal pesticides, the challenges in cases related to illegal business activities in the field of agricultural materials, and cooperation with law enforcement authorities.
With regard to the objectives and arrangements for 2024, the representatives reached consensus that on the basis of the achievements in 2023, the IWG should continue to leverage the QBPC’s quality platforms and resources to strengthen and maintain cooperation with domestic public security departments, market regulation departments and agricultural administrative law enforcement departments in communication and exchanges, sharing anti-counterfeiting clues and right protection actions. At the same time, the IWG should make new explorations and attempts to tackle the problems in the supervision and governance over online sales of illegal agricultural materials. In terms of the legal qualitative and application issues encountered in cracking down on illegal activities in the field of agricultural materials, the IWG could seek cooperation with industry experts, scholars, and industry representatives to jointly study and explore solutions.
