On November 14，Quality Brands Protection Committee of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (“QBPC”) Pharmaceutical & Medical Device IWG (P&MD IWG) and the Food and Drug Crime Investigation Department of the Public Security Bureau of Liaoning Province (Liaoning FDCID) successfully held an exchange meeting in order to “strengthen the cooperation between the police and enterprises, broaden the sources of clues, jointly crack down on drug-related crimes, and safeguard the health of the people”. Liaoning FDCID Chief Captain Liu Qitao and Deputy Captain Zhang Jianyi, Drug-related Crime Investigation Division Captain Ma Tingli exchanged with seven representatives of the IWG on cooperation in cracking down on drug crimes.
The seven IWG representatives gave a briefing on the problems of fake and shoddy drugs and the challenges that they had encountered in safeguarding rights. Meanwhiel they put forward some valuable suggestions and ideas on further strengthening cooperation between the police and enterprises. Then the participants focused on the analysis of the status quo of drug safety and had a heated discussion on the treatment of common problems in the industry, such as "Reflux Drugs generated by Medicare Fraud", "Illegal Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Intermediates", "Illegal Overseas Imitation Drugs" and so on.
In conclusion, Chief Captain Liu Qitao expected that IWG and Liaoning FDCID would establish a long-term communication mechanism, promote the share of case intelligence information, develop strategic cooperation relationship in cracking down on drug-related crimes, strengthen support and cooperation in drug inspection and identification, and enhance mutual trust and cooperation through two-way training, so as to jointly protect patients' drug safety and public health.
