Create Time:2025-03-28

On March 25-27, QBPC Chair Ji Ying attended the 2025 Brand Protection Strategy Summit in East Lansing, which was held by the Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection (A-CAPP) of Michigan State University (MSU).

During the Panel Session “Counterfeit and Illicit Products - Challenges for Sustainable Solutions”, Ying introduced QBPC and its missions /objectives. Then she emphasized the critical role of counterfeit goods destruction in brand protection following successful seizures by Chinese enforcement authorities, who typically oversaw the process and invited rights holders to observe ceremonial destructions. Highlighting the growing importance of environmentally friendly disposal methods for counterfeit goods and molds, Ying acclaimed QBPC members’ extensive expertise in this area. Furthermore, she shared China-specific best practices, including techniques for destroying counterfeit toys and footwear as well as recycling or repurposing materials post-destruction.

Through the interactions with A-CAPP and other international organizations, QBPC is able to promote its brand protection efforts among the international IP community while bringing back constructive comments to China. It is strategically crucial for QBPC to remain as an international communication bridge for IP-related matters between China and the rest of the world. Therefore, QBPC will continue such efforts and work more closely with members and stakeholders.
